At Bunana Bread Rabbitry, the health and well-being of every bunny we raise is incredibly important to us. We put a great deal of time and care into our little bakers before they ever head home, and we want each family to feel confident welcoming their new bunny.

Please read our Health Guarantee prior to bringing your bunny home.

🐰 Health at Go-Home

Bunnies will only leave Bunana Bread Rabbitry when we believe they are healthy, developing appropriately, and ready to transition into their new homes.

Babies remain with us until they are at least 8 weeks old.

We will never knowingly send home a bunny showing signs of contagious illness or a significant health concern.

If we have concerns about your bunny's health or development before their scheduled pickup, we may postpone their go-home date for their safety.

🩺 Veterinary Examination

We encourage every family to establish a relationship with a rabbit-savvy veterinarian and have their new bunny examined shortly after bringing them home.

Rabbits require specialized care, and not every veterinarian treats rabbits. Finding a rabbit-savvy veterinarian before an emergency occurs is strongly recommended.

🍞 Our Health Guarantee

We guarantee that, to the best of our knowledge, your bunny is healthy at the time they leave our care.

If a rabbit-savvy veterinarian identifies a serious health condition that was reasonably present prior to the bunny leaving Bunana Bread Rabbitry, please contact us promptly and provide documentation from the examining veterinarian.

We will review the situation with you and determine an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances.

This guarantee applies to the bunny's health at the time of transfer and is not a lifetime health guarantee.

🥕 After Leaving Our Care

Once a bunny leaves Bunana Bread Rabbitry, we no longer have control over their environment, nutrition, exposure to other animals, handling, stress, or veterinary care.

Because of this, we cannot guarantee against illnesses, injuries, parasites, or other conditions that develop after the bunny has entered their new environment unless there is reasonable evidence that the condition was present prior to transfer.

Changes in environment can also be stressful for young rabbits. Families should closely monitor eating, drinking, behavior, and droppings during the transition.

If your bunny stops eating or producing droppings, becomes extremely lethargic, has difficulty breathing, develops significant diarrhea, or otherwise appears seriously ill, please contact a rabbit-savvy veterinarian promptly.

🧬 Genetics, Size & Development

We carefully observe our rabbits and babies, but we cannot guarantee a bunny's exact adult size, weight, temperament, ear carriage, coat, markings, or reproductive ability.

Colors and markings may change as a bunny matures.

We also do our very best when determining the sex of young rabbits. However, because babies are typically evaluated while they are still young, mistakes can occasionally happen.

🥐 Your Responsibility

Our health guarantee depends on your bunny receiving appropriate care after leaving us.

This includes providing proper nutrition, fresh water, appropriate housing, a clean environment, safe temperatures, protection from predators and other animals, and veterinary attention when needed.
